Smothered pork chops are an easy 5-ingredient comfort meal that feel hearty and homemade without a lot of work. Thick-cut pork chops bake up tender under savory stuffing and creamy gravy for a cozy meal everyone loves.

Holly’s Recipe Highlights
- Flavor: Rich and savory with juicy pork, herby stuffing, and a creamy, lightly seasoned sauce that brings it all together.
- Budget Tip: This recipe uses affordable pantry staples like condensed soup and boxed mix, making it a budget-friendly way to feed a family of four.
- Technique: Searing the pork chops first adds color and helps keep them juicy before they finish in the oven.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve with green beans, potatoes, or a spinach strawberry salad to balance the richness.

Ingredient Notes
- Pork Chops: Choose thick cut pork chops to help keep them juicy during baking. Bone-in or boneless both work.
- Stuffing Mix: Use a standard chicken or turkey-flavored boxed stuffing mix for a classic flavor, or a cornbread version for a delicious twist.
- Soup: Any “cream of” soup will work great in this recipe.
- Milk: Whole milk makes the sauce a little richer, but lower-fat milk, or even half-and-half will also work.
- Vegetable Oil: Use a high smoke point oil like vegetable, canola, or avocado.
- Variations: Add some veggies by stirring in a cup of frozen peas, chopped onions, or canned mushrooms before baking. For a melty finish, sprinkle about ½ cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes.
