How To Cook Pasta
Before you can start cooking the pasta you will first need to figure out how many people you are serving!
The rule of thumb is about 2 ounces of dry pasta per person. But follow the amount indicated on the recipe you are preparing for the best results!
To Cook Pasta:
- Heat a large pot of boiling salted water over high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
- Add the pasta, and stir instantly to prevent sticking.
- Stir pasta occasionally while boiling until al dente.
- Strain, then add to sauce or recipe.
If you’re adding sauce to the pasta, avoid rinsing the pasta. The starch on the exterior of it will help the sauce stick to it.
Can You Freeze Pasta? Yes, for most pasta dishes you can! Make sure you cook the pasta just until al dente. This will prevent it from getting too soft or mushy when defrosting and reheating it later!
How To Reheat Pasta
Pasta tends to dry out when cooled. To reheat pasta with cream sauce, add 1 tablespoon of milk or cream per cup while heating.
For pasta with meat sauce, broth or water will ensure the pasta isn’t over dried.
To heat plain pasta noodles, add water and reheat while stirring constantly to prevent the noodles from sticking together.
