- Compared to a loaf-style meatloaf, cooking this in a bundt pan is much quicker.
Easy Ingredients
Meat: This recipe calls for lean ground beef. However, ground turkey can also be used as a replacement.
Stuffing: Any flavor of stovetop stuffing mix can be used for this recipe. Just allow the stuffing to cool before adding it to the meat.
Gravy: This recipe calls for 2 packages of gravy mix. One package is added to the meat mixture and the second is drizzled over the finished meatloaf.
How to Make Meatloaf
- Prepare the stuffing mix and one of the gravy packages.
- Mix the gravy with the ground beef and combine with the stuffing mixture.
- Press it into a bundt pan and bake (recipe below).
- Invert the pan and top with the second prepared gravy.
Fill the center with mashed potatoes, and serve.
Holly’s Favorite Tips and Tricks
- To help prevent the meatloaf from sticking, spray the bundt pan well with baking spray.
- Cook the meatloaf until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing it. This helps to keep it juicy and prevent it from falling apart when cut.
Leftovers
Make the most of your leftovers by adding them to bacon cheeseburger casserole or soup.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. They can also be kept in the freezer for up to 2 months. Allow it to cool and slice it into individual servings making it extra easy to grab a slice for lunch for the perfect meatloaf sandwich!

Love This Meatloaf Recipe, Baking it in a Bundt Pan Makes it Look So Appealing
I made this last night and it turned out so moist and yummy! I followed the directions to a tee using water with my gravy mixture! I just cooked it a bit longer! Great reviews from my family!
So happy your family enjoyed this meatloaf, Brenda!
I made this and put in a meatloaf pan, it was awesome. I followed the recipe exactly. We had meatloaf sandwiches the next day, yummy. I love this and will make it again.
So what is step 2 supposed to say::::::::
I am so annoyed, as I just made the recipe as written: In a separate bowl, mix 1 package of brown gravy mix with cold water. Combine ground beef, mixed gravy and egg.
It says to mix the gravy mix with water, it calls for 1 cup of water. Now I read reviews that I am going to have a soggy mess.
So I just wasted $20 of groceries?
The recipe is correct as written. The stuffing mix soaks up the liquid.
Okay so I had to scale down because I only had 1lb of ground beef, but here’s how I decreased everything:
1 package chicken flavour Stove Top stuffing
3/4 cup hot water (for the stove top)
1 packet brown gravy
1 pound ground beef
1/4 warm water (for the gravy packet)
1 large egg
It was really good and I’m so happy with how everything turned out! I followed the recipe instructions the exact same with the exception of the amount of time I cooked for. I only cooked it for 45 minutes because it was significantly less meat.
Thank you for sharing Lauren! So happy to hear how well it turned out for you!
I am really wanting to try this recipe, however I am a bit confused about the gravy instructions too.
So are you putting the dry gravy packet in the meatloaf mixture along with the soaked stove top mix and egg. Then the second package is to be mixed with cold water to use on top after baking. Thanks for clarifying.
Hi Linda! You have it exactly right. You use one packet in the meatloaf mixture and one is used to make hot gravy to put on top!
I’m excited to see how this turns out. I followed the directions, mixed the water up with the gravy (my gravy packet makes 4 cup and required 1 1/2 cups of water..I opted for 1 1/4 because I am using probably close to 3 lbs of ground beef. Only had 1 box of stuffing so I am going to see what happens by not incorporating another box for so much meat. It seems a bit mushy, but, only time will tell. I am actually cooking it in a crockpot with a liner. I’ll report back later!
We would love to hear how it turned out, Sue! Hope you enjoyed it.
BIG hit with the adult son and husband. It’s SUPER easy which makes it even better. I actually ordered a silicone bundt pan JUST for this recipe. I’ve used it since, so a win, win. It is a bit of a salt bomb but worth it.
You can also do everything from scratch if you desire. I love Stove Top stuffing, so that’s a given. Homemade/leftover mashed potatoes, warm work as do the Idahoan (real) potatoes in a box. I happened to not have potatoes when I started making it, they were all soft and had eyes. I used to box. Still yummy. I’ve this both ways.
So happy this recipe was such a hit, Patty. Thanks for sharing your alterations!
This was absolutely amazing!!!
I thought this was just absolutely fabulous. I am not a meatloaf fan but this was delicious. Will make it again and again.
Well didn’t you just make my day Anna! So happy to hear that!
Very original. Thanks for the recipe. I will definitely try to cook it.
I tried this and it was delicious. I used a loaf pan instead of the cake pan.
Absolutely delicious. But I do see why people have mistakenly added the extra cup of water.
The way the recipe is written seems too imply that.
Step 2 says……..”In a separate bowl, mix 1 package of brown gravy mix with cold water. Combine ground beef, mixed gravy and egg.”
However, having said that, it was a wonderful recipe that I will definitely make again.
Totally agree. It was like slop. I added literally half a container of panko to try to balance it out. It’s in the oven now. I guess we’ll see!
Hello, we cant wait to try this. I am making it for my moms birthday. I was wondering, what can i use instead of eggs? My mom camt have eggs. Thanks
I’ve never tried this without eggs. You may need to add a little extra water to help it stick together. Let us know how it works for you Ashley! And Happy Birthday to your mom!
I am attempting this tonight for my family. I never use a bunt pan for my meat loaf, just usually form it in a oval on a sheet pan and bake. It always came out ok. Is there a differences or is it just preference?
That should work just fine Curt. Enjoy the meatloaf!
whatflavorstuffigistheest
I usually use regular flavor, but any flavor you enjoy will be great Lori!
Thank you so much for this recipe!! It’s the best meatloaf we have had, my husband is still raving about it, especially how moist it is, even the leftovers are very moist. It’s definitely a keeper
I’m a little confused, the meatloaf gets 2 cups of water mixed in?
Hi Fran, one cup of hot water is used to prep the stuffing mixture in step one, and one cup of cold water is used to prep the gravy mixture in step two. Hope that helps!
I’ve tried a lot of meat off recipes and this is absolutely the best one ever. I made a couple of minor changes (I used a beef bouillon cube and a bit of Worcestershire sauce because I didn’t have any gravy packets). So freaking good!
Yum, that sounds so delicious Deborah!
Love love love this meatloaf! Thank you so much for the recipe! I’ve made it so many times I can count!
Wasn’t going to read all hundreds of comments you hav…so I was wondering if anyone tried adding mixed vegetables to this recipe? Frozen or canned?
Thanks again. Chelsea
Hi Chelsea, it doesn’t look like anyone has but that sounds like a great idea. If adding frozen vegetables make sure to thaw them first! Let us know how it turns out 🙂
Have made this recipe exactly as written and it turns out great every time! It has become a family favourite. Best meatloaf recipe I’ve ever made.
Want to try this recipe but my family favorite meatloaf I use sauteed onions, orange and yellow peppers all cut in small pieces. My family loves meatloaf that way.
Those would be delicious additions Barb!
I loved these reviews so much I asked my husband if he would be my test dummy. As soon as I said “meatloaf “ he got up and went to the freezer. He said that he was setting the meat to thaw. When I seen what he set to thaw I knew I was going to have to tweak this recipe. He set out 4 lbs of venison burger and two lbs of pork sausage. I just calculated according to the o original recipe as written and divided one into a Pyrex cake pan and two loaf pans. So far so good. Everyone will be enjoying this dish and I sent my daughter the recipe.
Thank you so much for “something different “!
So happy everyone loved this recipe Nickie!
I love this recipe. I have made it 10 times and it always turns out great. I use 1 pound of ground beef and then add 1/2 cup of Panko bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of a mixture of chopped celery, carrot, and water chestnuts, and a third egg.
Thank you for sharing Jen, so happy you love this meatloaf!
So you made a different recipe.
My hubby and I love this meatloaf. It was very moist and flavorful. Will definitely be making this again. Thank you for sharing.
So happy to hear that you and your hubby love this meatloaf Esther!
Does it have to use a bundt pan? Can we use any other loaf pan?
I have only tried the recipe as written, but other readers have had success using a loaf pan. Let us know how it goes for you if you try it Jessica!
I made this in a loaf pan…. it was a disaster. followed the directions left out the 1 c cold water. baked it for 70 min. was a soggy mess
Sorry to hear that Nicole, we have only made this recipe as written so I am not sure what went wrong.
Well, I’m 72, it’s 5:30 a.m. as I read this. I’m anxious to try this and there’s just two of us so we’ll have plenty leftover to freeze for sandwiches, etc. As I read the title I thought “wow” perfect for this 90 degree day…. stove top meatloaf, won’t have to heat the oven, great! Then I read that it bakes at 350 degrees, that would be “in” the oven. The light dawns, I have my aha moment, It’s “Stove Top” dressing mix, not cook on the stove top.
Hope you get a chuckle out of my interpretation of your recipe.
LOL Sherry, thank you for the giggle today!! 🙂 I hope you enjoy this recipe!
I see in the recipe where the hot water is used but what about the cup of cold water?
The cold water is added to the gravy mix (which is then added to the beef). I’ve updated the recipe. Thank you!
This was absolutely delicious. I baked it in a loaf pan and it turned out perfect. My family loved it
So glad your family loved the meatloaf Collette!
This meatloaf is so good!!! I made it last night for my family and they loved it. This will definitely be my meatloaf recipe for now on.
I’m so happy to hear that Tina!
How long did you cook it for in a loaf pan?
I’ve made this 5x comes out perfect every time. Love it.
Glad to hear you love it Hannah!
I made this today and it was delicious!! Easy and flavorful! Was a big hit with my family! Will definitely make it again!!!
So glad to hear it was such a hit Christina!
Can anyone tell me how much carbs per serving??
The recipe has been updated to include the nutritional information. Enjoy, Linda!
Never been a huge fan of meatloaf but this was great!! Will be making it a lot.
I’m so happy to hear that you love this meatloaf Christy!
Anyone try making this meatloaf in your crockpot ??
I am thinking of making this in my crockpot for tomorrow
To the people who have mush: The cold water is to make the gravy! If you put a cup of water in the meat mixture you just FAIL!
Tonight I’m making this meatloaf for the second time. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used a loaf pan and it turned out perfectly. I can’t understand why some people’s turned out mushy. Love this recipe!!
Glad it turned out great Judith!
Wondering if you could do this as a meal prep. Get it ready and freeze til your ready to cook I love this recipe is why am asking?
Made this tonight, delicious! I added onion soup packet dry with the gravy mix, then added about 1/2 cup of water to the meat mixture.
That’s great Beverly!
Made it tonight. Nice flavour and moist but too mushy. Next time I will omit to he water for to hehe gravy. Tasty nonetheless and will definitely make again. Tonight, I used ground turkey with turkey gravy and turkey stuffing.
Great idea, using ground turkey!
Made this for the first time tonight, made as written except used a loaf pan. Came out pretty good, cooked for the full 55 minutes. Was done, but needed to be cooked for a bit longer / or knock down the water a bit. Just a little bit too mushy for my preference. But otherwise this will be on my list of repeatable meals.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the stove top meatloaf! Thank you for sharing.
I found the amount of stuffing too overwhelming and it made the meatloaf dry. Next time I will reduce the amount of stuffing by half.
My husband and I absolutely loved this recipe ! I’m used to making my “standard” meatloaf with bread crumbs, eggs, tomato sauce and hamburger with a ketchup glaze (which is mighty good, if I can brag a little on it), but this is a fantastic change up. I followed the directions as written. The only problem I had was that it stuck to the bundt pan a little, and believe me…I SPRAYED IT !!! It turned out ok, I just pieced it together and covered it with mashed potatoes and gravy. Anyway, I made this a few weeks ago…and I’m ready to make it again this week ! Thanks for the great recipe.
So glad you loved it Lisa!
I made this and my family and I loved it!
Mine too Beth!
I made the Stove Top stuffing meatloaf, just a few days ago, June 30, 2017. I used a box of the Chicken Stuffing, 1 1/2 lbs of 80/20 gr beef. I cup of water in the stuffing and let set. Instead of the pkgs of brown gravy, I bought Heinz brown gravy w/onion, and a jar of Heinz w/Mushroom. Mixed them together, and used just 1 cup in the mix. Everything else I did the same. But I put it in a 13×9 glass pan. Came out perfect, I have been eating it cold and hot. I will add a little more water to the stuffing mix. It was a 6 oz box. It is delicious. Not to mushy and had a delicious flavor.
I used 93/7 ground beef so grease was not an issue. And I used a regular loaf pan. I put the mashed potatoes on top of the meatloaf. (Like a cake). And shredded cheese. Did not add the 2nd cup of water. It is DELICIOUS!!
I believe the 2nd cup of cold water was to be used for 2nd Pkg. of gravy mix.
It was to be use for serving, on top of mashed potatoes and meatloaf.
mix. It is for gravy for top of mashed potatoes and meatloaf at serving.
So do i put one package in the meatlaof after mixing one cup of water? Then the second package of gravy is for serving? Or do both packages go in the meat mixture?
Hi Sata, one package goes in the meatloaf in step 2. The second is used for making gravy to serve over top. I hope this helps!
I would love to try this!
You’ll be happy you did Donna!
Anyone tried this in an instant pot?!
For a great instant pot meatloaf, check out this recipe here Deb!
My favorite is ground turkey, dried onion soup mix and the bread stuffing mix. Yummy. Have used other flavors and meats too. Easiest recipe around and never boring.
Sounds great Cherry!
It is important to use the water. Not only does it make it moist but it also makes a tender meatloaf!
Wow! pls help me on how to cook other recipe, coz I don’t have any idea.
This was easy to make and a big hit! The next day I made sandwiches and they were also tasty
I absolutely LOVE leftover meatloaf sandwiches! (assuming there is some leftover!)
Made it in a loaf pan with brown gravey and turkey stuffing..delish! Use extra lean ground beef so you dont have to drain the loaf dish after cooking.
How long and at what temp did you cook in loaf pan?
Made this today…exactly as the recipe says. It was great!! Reminds me of a meat loaf from the old diners of the 50s. Will definitely make again
Glad you enjoyed it Brenda!
I have been looking for a recipe for meatloaf that didn’t use ketchup for months so glad I found this one. Will definitely try this one out. Thank you!!
Glad you came across it Dolores!
I can’t wait to try your recipes
Thank you Debbie!
Can’t wait to try these recipes
Enjoy Debbie!
Yummy
Thanks!
I can not wait to try the meatloaf. It looks and sounds great. Hot or Cold My favorite
This meatloaf looked so tasty but it didn’t turn out as good as I had hoped. It was over the top salty and all I could taste was the seasoning in the stuffing mix. I think I would try it again with unflavored stuffing and add my own seasonings.
What about all the grease from the meatloaf?
I use a lean beef so there isn’t a lot of grease.
Going to try this! It sounds delicious! I want to double the recipe, I wonder how long it will take to bake it. Any suggestions?
You’ll just want to ensure your beef reaches 160 degrees.
Been making this type of meat loaf from many years. I don’t like package gravy mixes, so I substitute ketchup and a bit of bbq sauce. So delicious! I’m asked to make it at family get togethers. I use a large loaf pan .
OMG that looks SO YUMMY !!lol ..going to try it SOON !! 😉
When I make my meat loaf it just falls apart, I keep mixing more and more still the same.
My Husband loves my meatloaf Yes we Both hate the regular kind . I make mine with herb dressing mix and cream of mushroom soup. Yep this sound a lot like it. I also not a fan of brown gravy mix. Thanks for the ideal…
Sounds good, Judy!
I am planning on making this recipe for the first time tonight, can I form the meatloaf and cook it a little later? Asking because I would like it do be done at a decent time so I can put my toddler to bed.
Yes Kirstie, it can be made in advance. Sorry for the delay, I hope you enjoyed the meatloaf!
sounds like great meat loaf
i made this the other night and it was to moist . what can i cut back on
SOUNDS WONDERFUL, I WILL TRY IT..
This is a great idea, JB. I had everything but the gravy mix, so I’m going to substitute beef stock and flour in the meatloaf. I’ll post results on my Pinterest account.
THIS LOOKS DELICIOUS CAN’T WAIT TO TRY IT. LIKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Adding 1 cup of gravy to the meatloaf mixture made it too ‘soupy’ to work with! The instructions aren’t clear at all! Maybe mixing the dry mix with just a little water?
Yes, you just need to add the dry gravy packet.
What oz. size box is in this recipe?
I use the 6 oz box in this recipe.
what if u dont own a bundt pa, would another pan work for this?
Yes for sure. You’ll want to ensure your beef reaches 160 degrees.
I will be trying this….I will, however, be adding a chopped sweet onion, a green pepper and some mushrooms. That’s how my husband and I like ours. ♥
Great additions, thank you for sharing!
When making meatloaf if you make a hole in the middle it helps it cook evenly. I make my meat loafs in a casserole dish, I never have a problem with it being mushy.
I never liked meat loaf. My got me to like it. However, she is no longer with me and I have been experimenting with a lot of the dishes she always made. This recipe and it’s ingredients make this one look delicious, too. I will be making this. Thanks for sharing.
Love the idea of stove top & gravy pkg so much flavor I also added diced onions fresh garlic grated cheese chopped fresh spinach red peppers Worcester sauce, to make a deniers loaf thanks for stove top idea i will differently use again
how much is a serving and how many calories in a serving.
This recipe makes 6 servings. I’m sorry I am unable to provide nutritional information. You can enter your ingredients here to calculate your calories.
This looks really good. I was wondering if there is any way I could get how much a serving would be and how many calories in a serving. Thank you!!
I’m sorry I am unable to provide nutritional information. You can enter your ingredients here to calculate your calories.
I omitted the water for the stuffing, and added about a 1/2 cup of shredded apple, it came out perfect! There were NO leftovers either, which is very RARE at my house. This is a keeper!

Wow. The shredded apple sounds great. I will try that next time I make this recipe which is one of my faves.
oh my that is so yummy looking will try it soon
Would this also work in a loaf pan?
Yes, you’ll want to ensure your beef reaches 160 degrees.
JB, For a bit different omit the gravy and add 1/2 of cup of your favorite bq sauce I use Curley’s then add a 1/2 of cup more to the top in the last 15 min of cooking I also add a onion to the meat loaf, my whole family loves it!! here is my version and thanks I am going to try your version next time I make meat loaf.
In a bowl mix
1.5 lbs, of 80/20 ground beef
1 chopped onion (i prefer to pre cook onion in a little butter until translucent)
one box of chicken stove top stuffing (I buy the cheaper brand and it works great)
1 cup of water
2 eggs
1/2 cup of bq sauce
throw it all together mix with yes your hands
bake for 30 minutes take out of oven and add !/2 cup more to top put back in the oven for 15 minutes and enjoy
Comment do not soak stuffing/ using it wet will make it to soupy
Any change in oven time or oven temperature if not a bundt, i.e., regular loaf shape? Thank you!
It make take slightly longer. You’ll want to ensure your beef reaches 160 degrees.
Thank You
I have never liked meatloaf, until I found this on Facebook. Ithis is the only meatloaf recipe I use! I use oninion or mushroom gravy instead of brown gravy. And I do my own seasonings and buy off brand ingredients. It turns out perfect!!!!my husband loves this with steamed broccoli and I with roasted sweet potatoes!!! Thanks for the recipe!!
Happy to hear your family enjoyed it Shay!
I have to say I am not a meatloaf person and my son is extremely picky… I decided to try this recipe and was so surprised how good it turned out to be,,, I had a couple of slices and my son completely cleaned his plate,,, which I don’t think he has ever done… This meatloaf just melts in your mouth… It is definitely a do over!!!! I definitely recommend trying this…
this is something I am going to try, but I will have to increase it. When feeding six people 11/5 lbs of beef is just not going to cut it.lol. I would also use a meat oaf pan.
I made this last night and was blown away! For how easy and affordable the recipe is, I can’t believe the results were so delicious.
I tweaked it a bit, due to the fact I only had 3/4lb. ground beef. . .
So I only used 1 egg, a little shy of the entire stuffing mix, and then kept everything else the same. Well, except adding a tiny bit of lemon pepper, about 1/4tsp. then 1 1/2tsp. Lipton Onion Soup mix and around 1/4tsp. celery seed. Added salt and pepper to taste.
I baked it in a foil lined and greased loaf pan at 350° in my toaster oven until the internal temperature was at 155°. After resting, served with mashed potatoes sans gravy and I STILL didn’t feel the need or desire to use any ketchup.
I will be making this many more times, for sure. Thank you so much for sharing this gem!
how would you go about draining the grease from the beef? i dont eat meat but cook it for my hubby so this kind of thing is new to me – seems like itd be super greasy… help! i want to make this soon!
I use a leaner beef so it’s not greasy.
My mo;d didn’t release so it looked bad but tasted wonderful.
Have you every made the meatloaf with ground turkey? I can’t eat beef.
I’ve only tried this recipe as written.
hubby can’t eat beef — will this work with ground turkey??
I’ve only tried this recipe as written but other readers have had great success with ground turkey in this recipe.
i want to try both of these
What kind of stove top stuffing?
YOUR CHOICE, THAT IS WHAT IT SAID IN THE RECIPE!!!!
Turkey stuffing mixed with ground beef?
For the Stove Top meatloaf, what type of stuffing do you need? There are a couple different flavors, chicken, cornbread, etc.
Looks delicious, can’t wait to try it this weekend!
I made this for my family today. It was the best meatloaf we’ve ever eaten!! I definitely recommend NOT adding the cold water for the gravy. Just put it in the meat mixture dry. That is what I did, based on previous reviews saying it was mushy. Leaving out the cold water for the gravy packet did the trick. It was still super moist but not mushy. I used the cornbread stuffing mix and I added about a teaspoon each of onion powder and garlic powder. I used a meatloaf pan instead of using a bundt pan. It was not done after an hour so I put it back in for 30 more minutes. It came out perfect! This will be a regular meal in our home. 🙂

This looks yummy but it looks a little mushy what I would do is take stuffing mix and use the gravy to moisten the stuffing, eliminating the extra water. This will give the meat loaf a better form but still be moist. Great idea I’m going to try it
I have been doing this for ten years. Minus the gravy. I do use a cup and a half of water to make the stuffing really moist. Dry bread crumbs make a dry meat loaf. I love that I have a set recipe and don’t have to figure out what to put in the meat. I called the company once to share with their research and development department. I was told they didn’t take ideas from customers. Well, a few years later, low and behold, my idea was on the box. I use Savory Herb.
Love this recipe. I’ve made it three times now. I just add the gravy packet as is. I also add a pack of onion soup mix. Best meatloaf I’ve ever made.
I have made this twice now 😉 I used a large size loaf pan.. no need to use your hands to mix the hamburger a spoon works fine after the addition of the beaten eggs I also added some minced onion & parsley .. super moist & full of flavour. Thanks for the great recipe!
This was very good meatloaf recipe nice & moist 😉 I added some dried garlic , minced onion & parsley dried .. just because I like a little extra spice . Thanks for the share 😉 my husband truly enjoyed !!
I would omit the water for the stuffing. You can use the dry gravy mix and dry stuffing, in the meatloaf mix, without the water.
Tried cooking this without the bundt pan, because I don’t have one — I tried it in a 9×9 glass dish and it was a soupy mess after 1hr20min so I took it out, swapped it to a baking sheet and baked it on that for ~15 minutes and served it on bread with the gravy on top of the taters and meat….mush? I will try again with less water and more stuffing. Even as a mess it still tasted yummy.
Would this work with homemade stuffing? Have you tried it that way?
Best Stove Top is the PORK flavor & use it with the PORK gravy mix, too, even if you are using beef in recipe. I need to try this one!
I love ur recipes.
Made this tonight it was delicious. Will be making again. I used my own gravy recipe though didn’t have any packets on hand. Love this recipe. Lisa
So happy you enjoyed it Lisa!
