- Casseroles are the perfect weeknight dinner that goes from the oven to the table in minutes.
- Large, busy families will love this deliciously budget-friendly dish that is perfect for tossing in leftover veggies!
Simple Ingredients
Chicken – Leftover chicken or turkey works great in this dish! A rotisserie chicken can be used in multiple recipes all week long. Other precooked proteins to try are frozen meatballs and sliced summer sausage.
Sauce – Sour cream and whole milk give a jar of Alfredo sauce extra rich and flavorful. A little bit of cream cheese will also make the sauce ‘extra’! (incorporate it in Step 3)
Pasta – Choose medium pasta that hold up well with the other ingredients and that the sauce can cling to like rotini, penne, medium shells, farfalle, or ziti.
Cheese – Cheddar cheese has a sharp flavor that complements the other ingredients, but you could also use shredded mozzarella, Monterey jack, or a Mexican blend.
Seasonings – Ranch dressing mix adds a tangy flavor to the Alfredo sauce, but you could switch out the ranch for taco seasoning for a Mexican twist!
Variations – Make this dish even more hearty and wholesome and add a bag of frozen peas and carrots or a vegetable medley. Sliced mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and spinach are great additions, too!
