Anytime is a good time to make Nutella stuffed cookies because they only take two ingredients and two steps!
Classic chocolate chip cookies are baked with a secret ingredient of creamy Nutella inside, for a sweet and gooey surprise! For maximum convenience, make them with ready-made cookie dough from the grocery store, or from your favorite homemade dough recipe. This fun treat can be made bite-sized or monster sized!
The Best Stuffed Cookies!
- Make Nutella cookies in minutes with ready-made ingredients just in time for a fun after-school snack, a sleepover, or no reason at all – they’re that easy!
- This is a great recipe for little bakers in the kitchen because there are only two ingredients, two steps, and cleanup is a cinch!
- Homemade cookie dough is always best, but why when this store bought recipe is so quick and easy?
2 Ingredient Recipe!
COOKIE DOUGH: Ready-made chocolate chip cookie dough is super convenient and the store brand works just fine! Use the roll or pre-portioned trays, either will do.
FILLING: Scoop up Nutella and freeze into balls. Double up on the Nutella amount so frozen balls are on hand whenever a snack attack hits. They will keep in a zippered bag for up to 3 months.
VARIATIONS: Stuffed cookies can be made with any variety of pre-made cookie or brownie dough and fillings for a new treat every time! Try double fudge dough with caramels, cookies and cream dough with chocolate kisses, brownie dough with peanut butter, and sugar cookie dough with caramels. The possibilities are endless. And delicious made with homemade dough too! Try peanut butter, snowball dough, or white chocolate macadamia nut dough.
How to Make Nutella Stuffed Cookies
- Freeze teaspoonfuls of Nutella.
- Wrap portions of cookie dough around the frozen Nutella and bake until the edges are crispy and golden brown in color.
PRO TIP: Sprinkle a little sea salt on the top before baking to enhance the chocolate chip/hazelnut flavors.
Monster Cookies: Roll out 2 circles of cookie dough that are 5” each on parchment paper. Place 3 or 4 frozen Nutella balls in the center and top one circle with the other. Pinch the edges around and bake per recipe.
Deep Dish Cookies: Press cookie dough into a small cast iron pan lined with parchment paper. Place 5 to 7 frozen Nutella balls in the center and cover with another layer of cookie dough (no need to seal) on parchment paper. Bake as directed in recipe.
Simple Cookie Storage Ideas
- Keep Nutella stuffed cookies in an airtight container, layers separated with parchment paper, for up to 5 days. Place a slice of bread in the container to absorb moisture, if necessary.
- Enjoy cookies at room temperature or reheat them in the microwave for a few seconds to make the insides all melty again.
Recipe Tips!
- Use parchment paper over pan release on the baking sheet to make sure the cookies don’t stick if the Nutella melts out during the baking process. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet about 5 minutes after baking before removing them to a rack so they firm up a bit.
