You’ll Love These Pizza Roll-Ups Because…
- These pizza roll-ups have a crispy crust on the outside with a soft, cheesy interior.
- The mozza cheese melts beautifully, creating a creamy, gooey texture that complements the crunchy crust.
- Pepperoni slices add a savory, slightly spicy flavor, balancing the rich cheese and sauce.
- The pizza sauce provides a tangy, zesty base that ties everything together, creating a deliciously savory bite.
What’s in a Pizza Roll-Up?
Crust: Buy it fresh or thaw from frozen, Pillsbury makes pizza dough, but any brand works. Make homemade dough, or squeeze together the perforated edges of crescent roll dough to make one large square, about 16” by 14.”
Pepperoni: The pepperoni slices provide a savory, slightly spicy kick, complementing the rich cheese and tangy sauce. Besides pepperoni, use sliced deli ham, ground sausage, or leftover shredded chicken or taco meat.
Sauce: The pizza sauce brings a bright, slightly acidic flavor with a tomato-forward taste that balances the richness of the cheese and pepperoni.
Cheese: The melted mozzarella cheese adds a rich, gooey texture and mild, creamy flavor that blends perfectly with the pizza sauce. Or choose your cheese! Mozzarella, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Colby, or even a Mexican blend.
Variations: Whatever goes on a pizza goes in a pizza roll-up! Veggies, pineapple, bacon bits, jalapenos, and green chiles are good add-ins.
Delish Dippers: Dip those roll-ups into ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, honey mustard sauce, or a zesty fry sauce.
