Ingredient Notes

- Crescent Dough: Sheets make rolling easier, but regular crescent rolls work well if the seams are sealed.
- Honey Mustard: Adds a sweet, tangy flavor, while Dijon gives the pinwheels a bolder taste. Use a thin layer. Buy it or make homemade 3-ingredient honey mustard sauce.
- Ham: Thin deli ham rolls easily and keeps the pinwheels neat. Pat it dry if it is very moist.
- Cheese: Swiss cheese pairs well with ham, but cheddar, provolone, mozzarella, or pepper Jack can be swapped in. Thin slices of cheese are easiest to roll.

Ham and Cheese Pinwheels
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls, crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard sauce *, or Dijon mustard
- 3 ounces sliced ham about 6 slices
- 3 ounces sliced Swiss cheese or cheese of choice, about 6 slices
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375℉. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press into a 12×8-inch rectangle, pinching any seams together.
- Spread the honey mustard sauce over the dough, leaving ½ an inch clear on the long edges and 1 inch clear on the short edges. Top with ham and cheese slices.
- Starting on the short edge of the rectangle, roll the dough into a log. Pinch to seal the seam. Cut into 8 slices, about 1-inch wide. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes, or until golden.
- Combine the melted butter and garlic powder in a small bowl. Brush over the tops of the pinwheels. Serve warm.
Notes
- Try using this homemade 3 Ingredient Honey Mustard.
- If the pinwheel log is too soft to slice once rolled, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes before slicing.
- Don’t over-sauce the pinwheels, or the ham and cheese may slide around when rolling them up.
