Ingredients and Variations
Cereal: Use Lucky Charms or the store brand with marshmallow bits. This also applies to Rice Krispies; any brand works.
Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows will melt faster but you can use the large ones; just cut them into halves or quarters for faster melting.
Butter and Vanilla: Use real butter (salted or unsalted) and real vanilla extract for the best flavor.
Variations: Add a minty flavor to Lucky Charms rice Krispie treats and use mint extract instead of vanilla. Add mini white chocolate chips, mint chips, or green sprinkles for an extra festive treat. This recipe is endlessly versatile. Make a Christmas version or a peanut butter version, or add a personal twist to the original recipe.
