Just 3 Ingredients

Hot Dogs – Choose your dogs, even larger Polish sausages or bratwurst work as long as the crescent roll fits around them. Make breakfast crescent roll dogs using cooked sausage links! Minis can be made by cutting the crescent roll dough in half for wrapping around cocktail smokies!

Crescent Rolls – Crescent roll dough bakes up into a light breading around the hot dogs, a store brand is okay if Pillsbury isn’t available. Strips of puff pastry and ready-made pizza dough also work!

Cheese – American cheese is made for melting! Other cheeses to try are cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, or a Mexican blend.

Variations – Tuck some bacon bits, chopped jalapenos, or green chilis into the cheese before wrapping the hot dogs. Before baking, brush the tops of the assembled dogs with egg wash and sprinkle the tops with everything bagel seasoning.

How to Make Crescent Roll Hot Dogs

  1. Cut a lengthwise slit in each hot dog and fill with 3 slices of cheese, as per recipe below.
  2. Place a hot dog on the long edge of a crescent roll and roll up.
  3. Bake seam side down until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Crescent roll hot dogs can also be baked in an air fryer at 325°F for 8 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned.

Crescent Roll Hot Dogs

These crescent dogs with cheese are simple, easy and delicious handheld snacks that kids and adults will love!

Ingredients  

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 4 slices American cheese each cut into 6 strips

Instructions 

  • Heat oven to 375˚F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut a lengthwise slit into each hot dog. Place three strips of cheese into the slit.
  • Unroll crescents and wrap one triangle around each hot dog, placing them seam side down on the baking sheet.
  • Cook for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.

  • Air Fryer Method: Cook crescent roll hot dogs in an air fryer at 325°F for 8 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned.
