  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces cabbage , about ¼ medium head of cabbage
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 ¼ cups instant rice , Minute Rice
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon each salt and black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dry thyme leaves


  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a large 12-inch skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Drain any fat.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add the cabbage to the beef and cook, stirring until tender, about 7 minutes.
  • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, combine the cooked beef and cabbage, marinara sauce, broth, instant rice, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes or until rice is tender. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
