Ingredient Notes

  • Sliced Peaches: Canned peaches make this recipe quick and reliable. Drain them well so the cobbler bakes up tender instead of watery, or use peeled and sliced fresh peaches. Frozen peaches can also be used; just remember to thaw and drain them.
  • Granulated Sugar: Tossing the peaches with granulated sugar draws out some of their juices, creating a sweet, syrupy fruit layer as the cobbler bakes. Or swap part or all of the granulated sugar for brown sugar for a deeper caramel-like flavor.
  • Bisquick: Original Bisquick is the shortcut that creates the cobbler’s buttery, tender crust with its classic flavor and texture. Or try a homemade Bisquick mix.
  • Milk: Milk combines with the Bisquick to create a smooth, pourable batter. Whole milk adds a richer flavor, but 2% milk works too.

How to Make Bisquick Peach Cobbler

  1. Toss drained peaches with sugar and set aside.
  2. Mix Bisquick, milk, and cinnamon, then stir in melted butter.
  3. Spread the batter into the bottom of the baking dish.
  1. Spoon the peaches and juices over the batter without stirring.
  2. Bake (full recipe below).

Let it cool 30-minutes before serving, topped with ice cream.

Best Cobbler Tips

  • Drain the Peaches Well: Too much liquid can make the center soggy.
  • Let the Peaches Sit with Sugar: A short rest creates just enough syrupy juice for the best flavor.
  • Do Not Overmix the Batter: Stir just until combined for a softer cobbler texture.
  • Use a 2-Quart Baking Dish: A larger dish can make the cobbler too thin and bake faster.
  • Check the Center: The edges may brown first, but the middle should be set before removing it from the oven.
