Stuffed bagels in the air fryer are a crispy, cheesy gourmet snack that is so easy to make.
Three kinds of cheese combine with savory garlic butter for an irresistible snack that you can make in minutes.

Holly’s Savory Stuffed Bagels
- Flavor: Creamy, cheesy, and savory stuffed bagels are tasty appetizers and to-go snacks.
- Difficulty: The air fryer makes food quick, and cleanup is a breeze.
- Prep note: Hold onto the garlic butter recipe and use it on pasta and roasted veggies.
Stuffed Bagel Basics
Bagels: Plain bagels showcase the garlic butter and three cheeses. Try other bagel flavors like onion and poppyseed, jalapeno and cheese, sesame, or everything bagel.
Cream Cheese: Full-fat cream cheese tastes the best, but any version works, and there’s no need to buy the name brand. Pre-whipped cream cheese with added seasonings or fruit is not recommended because it’s not thick enough to stay in the cuts in the bagel and will leak out as the bagel cooks.
Cheese Topping: Mozzarella and parmesan cheese add a tangy flavor melted over the tops of the bagels. Try a Mexican blend, shredded Monterey Jack, Swiss cheese, or whatever’s on hand.
Twists for Every Taste
- Cream cheese can be mixed with other seasonings like taco seasoning, chopped jalapenos, or hot sauce for a spicy stuffed bagel.
- Make dessert stuffed bagels using cinnamon raisin bagels stuffed with mixed berry cream cheese and topped with melted butter and cinnamon sugar topping instead of garlic butter.
How to Make Stuffed Bagels
- Prep bagels and garlic butter (full recipe below).
- Whip cream cheese until fluffy and place into a piping bag.
- Fill each bagel section with cream cheese and top with garlic butter.
- Sprinkle the tops with parmesan and mozzarella.
- Cook in the air fryer until golden.
Bright Ideas for the Best Bagels
- Always preheat the air fryer before cooking stuffed bagels. This ensures the hot air will circulate all around the bagel, sealing in all those cheesy, garlic flavors!
- Let the cream cheese come to room temperature while prepping the bagels and making the garlic butter. Softened cream cheese is easier to work with.
- Use a piping bag or a small sandwich bag with a corner snipped off to insert the cream cheese into the bagel sections.
Brilliant Bagel Storage Solutions
Wrap leftover stuffed bagels in plastic wrap and keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They can also be wrapped the same way and frozen for up to one month.
