Ingredients

Pasta: Any spaghetti works in this recipe! Even gluten-free or vegetarian varieties, simply follow the package directions and cook to al dente. Make the spaghetti ahead, drain, and keep in the fridge until ready to use.

Sauce: Grab a couple of jars of marinara or make your own and freeze it for future recipes.

Cheese: Spaghetti pizza is all about the cheese. For the most melty results, grate mozzarella from a block instead of buying pre-shredded. Pre-shredded cheese doesn’t melt as well because it has additives to keep it from sticking together. Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and even a Mexican blend will work.

Variations: Any toppings that go on a pizza and go in spaghetti works in spaghetti pizza. Pepperoni, Italian sausage, pre-cooked mini meatballs, mushrooms, olives, jalapenos, green chiles, spinach, onions, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, the list goes on!

How to Make Spaghetti Pizza

  1. Prepare spaghetti per package directions (recipe below).
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, 1 cup of mozzarella, parmesan, and seasonings in a large bowl. Add spaghetti and toss to coat.
  3. Spread spaghetti ‘crust’ on a baking sheet and bake.
  4. Top with pasta sauce, remaining mozzarella, and toppings. Bake.
  5. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Helpful Hints

  • The trick to perfect spaghetti pizza is to mix the crust ingredients in Step 3 thoroughly.
  • Line the baking pan with parchment for easy cleanup.
  • Make up to a day ahead and keep covered in the fridge until ready to reheat!
  • Use the right size of the baking sheet so the spaghetti base stays intact when it’s time to serve. A smaller baking sheet will result in a thicker ‘crust’.

Leftovers

Keep spaghetti pizza covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat portions in the microwave with extra cheese on top. Freeze cooled portions in zippered bags for up to one month and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
