Easy grilled watermelon is the stunning summer dessert you didn’t know you needed.
Wedges of fresh watermelon are brushed with balsamic vinaigrette and grilled until charred and smoky-sweet for a fast and flavorful handheld treat.

Grilled & Glorious – Holly’s Highlights
- Flavor: Sweet and savory with caramelized edges, grilled watermelon is a quick and easy al fresco dining snack, side, or dessert.
- Difficulty: Quick and easy! Grilled watermelon is ready to serve in less than 5 minutes!
- Serving suggestions: Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or crumbled feta and chopped basil leaves.

Juicy Ingredients
Watermelon: Look for a heavy melon without cracks or bruises that sounds hollow when you tap it. It should also have a ‘yellow spot’ that lets you know it was vine-ripened before being harvested.
Dressing: Choose your favorite balsamic vinaigrette, but avoid using straight balsamic vinegar since it will be too acidic and soak into the fruit instead of glazing it on the outside.
Sizzling Swaps: Try making a grilled fruit ‘melange’ using slices or chunks of cantaloupe, honeydew, peaches, and pineapple!
