- Difficulty: Practice your baking skills with this simple, no-fail recipe.
- Freezing: Bake and freeze a cake mix soda cake for last-minute playdates, movie nights, or as a hostess gift

Pop-and-Pour Ingredients
- Cake Mix: Any 13.25-ounce box of cake mix is all you need – no need to buy the name brand.
- Carbonated Soda: A 12-ounce can is the right size to use in this recipe. You can also use diet or sugar-free soda and still get perfect results! In a pinch, a can of sparkling water or carbonated water works.
- Mix-and-Match: Turn soda cake into a cobbler by placing 2 cups of fresh or frozen fruit on the bottom of the baking dish, covering with cake mix, then the soda, and baking until the top is golden and bubbly.

Top Tips to Make Your Cake Pop!
- Avoid overmixing the batter; mix until just combined to keep it light and fluffy.
- A dash of vanilla or almond extract will enhance the flavor.
- You know the cake is done when you can gently press on top of the cake and it springs back.
Sweet Storage Tips
Store cake mix, soda cake covered at room temperature for up to 3 days (if it lasts that long!)
Freeze portions by wrapping them in plastic wrap and then transferring them to a zippered bag for up to 6 months. Pop on or two out for a backpack or briefcase, and they’ll be ready to enjoy by lunchtime!
