Spring Break is just on the horizon! You know what that means: time to find ways to keep the kids busy so parents like us don’t lose our minds! Keeping the kids busy on a budget is something I struggle with every year, and this year I think I have made the perfect plan!!
I started by planning one fun activity per day for the family. Then I made my shopping list, thank goodness for Walmart! I could grab all these items in one stop and I don’t have to worry about dragging 4 kids all around town!!
Here is my daily activity list:
- Monday: Movie Night
- Tuesday: Camping in the Backyard
- Wednesday: Family Game Night
- Thursday: Dance Party (this really wears the kids out!)
- Friday: Picnic at the Park
Then I wrote down what I would need to make these things happen. I easily stayed within budget and the kids are going to be so happy!!
Here’s my shopping list:
- Smucker’s Uncrustables
- Bottled Water
- Smucker’s Squeezable Jelly
- Deck of Cards
- Jif to go
- Graham Crackers
When we camp in the backyard we are going to make peanut butter s’mores! My kids live off peanut butter and jelly and that helps keep me on a budget and keep them happy at the same time! Here’s my life saving aisle at Walmart:
Now, I have a little suggestion for you if you’re getting Uncrustables for the kids, get a few boxes. One for yourself, one for the kids to eat before break even starts, and of course one for Spring Break! They’re just too good and irresistible!!
The key to surviving spring break is having a plan! It will save your sanity, trust me on that! With a plan, not only will the family be happy but so will your bank account!!
What are some of your favorite Spring Break activities to do with your kids?
