Peppermint playdough and gingerbread playdough in jars and on the counter with a rolling pin and a title

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • food coloring

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a Medium Sized Pan whisk together your Flour, Salt and Cream of Tartar.
  2. Add Water and Oil.
  3. Add Food Coloring if desired.
  4. Whisk until you have a smooth consistency with no lumps.
  5. Place your pan over low heat and stir constantly until your mixture thickens. This will take 3-5 minutes and you will need a strong arm. When you have a big ball/lump, your dough is finished.
  6. Knead your dough for a minute or two.
  7. Store in a Sealed container.

GINGERBREAD SCENTED PLAY DOUGH
Just a few changes to make the play dough into gingerbread scented play dough!
Add these ingredients into the above dry ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg

Add these ingredients into the wet ingredients before placing on heat:

  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Blue, yellow and red food coloring (until you have a brown color)

PEPPERMINT SCENTED PLAY DOUGH
Add these ingredients into the wet ingredients before placing on heat:

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring
