Chicken Lettuce Wraps are not only easy to make, they’re delicious! In this easy lettuce wraps recipe, ground chicken is cooked with an easy peanut soy sauce. Add in some fresh veggies and wrap it all in tender lettuce leaves for the perfect quick meal!

P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps

The inspiration for this recipe came from the popular Chinese restaurant, P.F. Chang’s.  Not only are these lettuce wraps wonderful, they always taste so much better homemade – and at half the cost!

Easy under 30-minute meal

I love lettuce wraps because they are the easiest meal you can serve your family. You can have the whole meal ready to be enjoyed in less than 30-minutes.

Not only are the wraps super easy and quick to make, they are great if on a budget, just like these Taco Bowls or the Easy Taco Casserole!

How to make Chicken Lettuce Wraps:

  1. Prepare the sauce and set aside.
  2. Cook the ground chicken. Add sauce and cook.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, prepare desired vegetables and break apart lettuce.

Chicken for Lettuce Wraps

If you cannot find ground chicken or don’t want to spend the extra money on ground chicken, grind the chicken yourself. This also works with minced chicken. Simply freeze the chicken for an hour or so to firm it up and dice it as finely as possible.

Chicken thighs work best in this recipe for tender juicy results but of course you can use chicken breasts if you prefer. Ground Turkey is a great substitute if you cannot find ground chicken!

What kind of lettuce should I use?

Butter lettuce or mini romaine are both great choices to use. If you don’t have either on hand, iceberg lettuce will work just fine.

I like julienning different vegetables and set it up as a buffet, everyone adds their favorite veggies to top off their lettuce wraps. The vegetables can either be julienned or chopped fine.

Lettuce Wrap Fillings:

  • cucumbers
  • julienned carrots or radishes
  • chow mein noodles
  • cilantro or green onions
  • fried rice or white rice

How to Store and Reheat Lettuce Wraps

Lettuce wrap filling reheats beautifully! Once cooked and cooled, it will store refrigerated up to 3 days! To reheat, just add a splash of chicken broth to your skillet with the chicken mixture and you’re done!

My favorite part of this recipe is the super easy sauce! It’s not the traditional sauce you might expect from lettuce wraps and the ingredients are ones you already have on hand, so you don’t have to go out and purchase just for one recipe.

This Chicken Lettuce Wraps Recipe is super easy! Ground chicken with a peanut soy sauce wrapped in lettuce is the perfect quick meal you’re going to make on a regular basis because it's so addictive!

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 teaspoons creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 green onions
  • butter lettuce
  • radishes optional when serving
  • cucumbers optional when serving
  • tomatoes optional when serving
  1. In a small bowl, combine peanut butter, soy sauce, and water; set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil. Once hot, add ground chicken and cook until browned, breaking up chicken as it’s cooked.

  3. Add butter, ginger and garlic and cook for another minute, stirring as needed.

  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture. Add green onions. Cook another minute.

  5. To serve, add some chicken mixture into a lettuce leaf. Top with desired added vegetables.

  6. Enjoy!
