lean ground beef

frozen diced onions
or 1 small onion chopped

(10.5 ounce) can
condensed cheddar cheese soup
or cream of chicken

milk

barbecue sauce
or ketchup

tablespoon
yellow mustard

cups
shredded cheddar cheese
divided

(28-32 ounce) bag
frozen tater tots
chopped pickles
for topping, optional
Instructions
Heat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook the beef and onions over medium-high heat until browned. Drain well.
Stir in cheddar soup, milk, barbecue sauce, mustard, and ½ cup of cheddar cheese. Simmer 1 to 2 minutes to warm through.
Spread the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Arrange tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes until the tots are crisp and the filling is bubbling.
Rest 5 minutes before serving. Top with chopped pickles (or your favorite burger toppings).
Notes
Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days and in the freezer for 3 months.
