This creamy chicken recipe is perfect for new cooks because the ingredients are basically open and pour, then the crockpot does the rest!


  • 4 chicken breasts about 1.5 lbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 1 package Ranch dressing mix
  • 1 bell pepper red or green chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced


  • Season chicken pieces with Italian seasoning. Heat oil in a medium skillet and brown chicken, 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove chicken from the pan and add butter and onion. Cook until onion is tender.
  • Place chicken in the bottom of a 6 qt slow cooker.
  • Mix cream cheese, soup, garlic, and dressing mix in a bowl and pour over chicken and add bell pepper.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Remove chicken breasts and shred.
  • Whisk sauce until it is smooth, stir in chicken.
  • Serve over rice or pasta.
