Line the bottom and sides of a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two of the sides to easily lift the brownies out of the pan.
Add butter to a large bowl and beat for 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
Add the light brown sugar and beat for 1-2 minutes until creamed. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat just until combined. Beat in Nutella and salt until smooth.
Add the flour, and mix until just combined. Avoid over-mixing. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. A toothpick should come out with only a couple of moist crumbs.
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lift the brownies from the pan, cut into squares, and serve.
