Festive Ingredients

  • Cinnamon Rolls: Grab a can of Grands, a generic store brand, or make homemade cinnamon rolls and have extra for future holiday bakes.
  • Sprinkles: Trim cinnamon roll Christmas trees with sparkly colored sugar, silver dragees, gold glitter, or anything festive.
  • Icing: Leave the icing white for a winter wonderland look, or add green food coloring for a cheerful Christmas tree effect.
  • Sweet Spins: Top trees with halved maraschino cherries, golden currants, or dried cranberries. Toss flaked coconut in green food dye and sprinkle it over the iced trees for a pine-needle effect.

Cinnamon Roll Tree-Trimming Tips

  • Using parchment paper to line the baking pan saves on cleanup time.
  • Secure the trees with toothpicks before baking, so they don’t lose their shape. Remove toothpicks before decorating and serving.
  • For extra soft cinnamon rolls, brush the tops with milk before baking.

Serve Up Smiles & Keep Them Merry

  • Build a holiday spread with healthy rainbow fruit kabobs, a hearty breakfast casserole, and a pitcher of mimosas or smoothies.
  • Keep leftover cinnamon roll Christmas trees covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in a baking pan loosely covered with foil at 300°F until warmed through.
  • Or, warm them in the microwave or in an air fryer if desired.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 (17.5 ounce) can Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls with icing (or 12.4 oz cinnamon rolls, see notes)
  • sprinkles colored sugar, or small candies

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll each cinnamon roll into a long strip (see notes if using regular cinnamon rolls).
  • Starting at the top, fold the strip back and forth in shorter sections to create a triangle “tree” shape that is narrow at the top and wider at the bottom. Place each shaped tree onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 13-18 minutes, until golden.
  • Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle trees with provided icing and decorate with the sprinkles.

Notes

*Only have regular Pillsbury cinnamon rolls? Don’t worry if your cinnamon rolls won’t unroll — just follow the swirl on top and cut along it to make a spiral and unroll!
If your trees start to lose their shape, secure them with toothpicks while they bake. Just be sure to pull the toothpicks out before serving!
